CubeWorks

Traditionally, on android platform, you can only see one application at one time. CubeWorks displays a cube containing six applications at a time, one on each cube face. This allows a user to access multiple sources quickly, helps them visualize the information and makes navigation easier.

Cube face packs are pre-configured bundles of apps for CubeWorks. When combined together, they can help users with various tasks like managing their day, doing research, analyzing stocks, planning a trip, and more.

CubeWorks comes with a few predefined face packs, but users can download new ones, or build their own.

Navigation in CubeWorks is extremely simple and easy. The unfolded cube in the title bar indicates which surface is currently visible and provides navigation shortcuts.

When zoomed-out

• Rotate the cube by dragging on the screen or using the track ball.
• Tap on a cube face to zoom-in on an app.
• Tap the unfolded cube to rotate to the front face.
• Press MENU to access parallel web search, settings and other functions.

When zoomed-in

• Swipe left or right (i.e. fling) to switch between apps.
• Press back to zoom-out.
• Tap the unfolded cube to select a cube face.
• Press MENU to access specific functionality for the active cube face.

CubeWorks come bundled with few special face packs called – search face packs. Using these face packs you can do parallel search on multiple information sources. Bundled search face packs with current version of CubeWorks are:

• News search – search popular news web sites.
• Reference search – search online reference web sites like wikipedia, dictionary.com etc.
• Stock search – search for latest stock quotes.
• Web search – search top search engines.

CubeWorks supports android live folders and provides list of installed face packs as live folder content feed. You can launch your favorite face pack right from your home screen. Launching your favorite face pack cannot be easier than this.

Certain applications also allow integration across surfaces. For example, text selected in a browser or the calculator history tape can be sent to a notebook or editor.

CubeWorks introduces, first time on android, a powerful rich text editor.

CubeWorks includes a full function web browser with it and thus allows you to put any web application on a cube face. CubeWorks web browser comes with some unique features.

• On-screen back/forward buttons.
• View and navigate in browser history tape.
• Tap on title bar takes you to top of the web page.
• Selected text is automatically pasted to available text editor.
• On load, auto scroll to saved scroll positions.
• On load, auto zoom to saved zoom level.

CubeWorks comes with a search application that allows you to search the Internet, Local Businesses and content stored on the phone such as calendar entries, Gmail messages, phone book entries and application content.

CubeWorks comes with a Communications Application that allows you to quickly visualize the different types of communication (e.g. phone calls, email messages, etc.) that have occurred organized by day and individual.
